US Drops Opener
The United States opened up their World Junior A Challenge pool this afternoon against Germany. USA got off to a good start, as Mike Cichy (Darren Rowe, Danny Kristo) scored a goal to put USA up early. USA extended their lead to 2 on a goal from David Gerths (Rowe, Cichy). From there, it went south for the Americans. Before the period was over, Germany knocked home two goals to tie the game. The Germans did all the scoring in the 3rd period, putting up 3 goals. Germany went on to win the game by a score of 5-2. Mike Cichy was named USA's Player of the Game.
Better luck tomorrow for team USA.
