Lincoln Stars draft pick, and former Storm goalie, Nick Hopper has committed to the University of Nebraska-Omaha for the fall of 2008. Hopper spent the last two seasons playing in the NAHL, spending time with the Southern Minnesota Express and most recently the Santa Fe Roadrunners.
The Mavs may not be able to field a team if the Storm weren't around. They have one recruit coming in next fall, Matt Ambroz, and three more for 2008 (Kyle Ensign, Alex Hudson, and Jordan Willert.) To go along with those, players who played in Kearney and are current Mavericks include Eric Aarnio, Mark Bernier, and J.P. Platisha. Other notable Storm alumni that have suited up for UNO include Bill Thomas and Scott Parse.
Seems like UNO has a pretty strong pipeline with the Storm.

Maybe if UNO connected their pipeline to another USHL team they would actually be competitive.
theyve gotten some solid talent from the indiana ice as well
already have tomas klempa and eddie del grosso, two solid players
also have commitments from mike phillippi, eric olimb, jake skjodt and perhaps john kemp....im prolly forgettin somebody.
NICK HOPPER IS A BRUTAL GOALIE! he couldn't get it done in the USHL how will he get it done in collge?
Hopper has only played in about 10 games in the USHL....thats not really enough time to base any decision on if he can or cannot get it done in the USHL. The USHL is not the only league you can pull competetive goalies from either...Hopper put up great numbers in the NAHL and hopefully he will get the chance to play fro lincoln(USHL) this coming year to see how good he can be. Lincoln has done well in developing solid goaltender talent.
