League Notes

Cedar Rapids has traded away forward Derek Danowski. If I had to make an educated guess, I'd say he was traded back to the NAHL so he can be productive.

Ohio released defenseman Mike Sturdevant to make room for the recently acquired Danny Markowitz.

Sioux City Musketeers' defenseman Mike Beck has made a committment to play at the University of New Hampshire for next fall. Beck becomes the 9th player for the Musketeers to commit this season. Beck will join Phil DeSimone at New Hampshire next year, along with fellow USHLers Will O'Neill and Mike Borisenok.

Lincoln Stars' forward Stephen Schultz has committed to play for the Colorado College Tigers starting next fall. It was only a matter of time before this kid was snatched up by a college. Schultz is 4th in the league with 16 goals, so he isn't afraid to put the puck in the net.

Seven Sioux Falls Stampede players were featured in three separate articles published in the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Zach Hansen, Ryan Guentzel, and David Grun featured here.

Stu Bickel and Erik Peterson featured here.

Matt Lundin and Dan Sexton featured here.

Des Moines trainer snagged a pretty good player.

The Tri-City Storm announced that the refs would once again wear the pink officials uniforms to promote breast cancer awareness. These pink uniforms will be auctioned off during the game via silent auction.

Last but not least, Waterloo has announced that former NBA player Walter Bond will be the guest speaker at the USHL All-Star Banquet.

Who was last year's guest speaker at the USHL All-Star Banquet.....

London Knight-AC

He talked about how much better the OHL is than the Ushl. T. Lewis listen well and wound up in Owen Sound and Murray to Kitchner.

Who are the next Ushl'ers to jump to the CHL?

Lewis went because the Kings gave him a contract and Murray went because he couldn't get into Maine.

I guess I don't get why you have a basketball player come talk to a bunch of hockey players at the All-Star game?????
