Sioux City Names Assistant Coach

The Musketeers have issues a press release, and they have named Rick Comley, Jr. as their new assistant coach. Story will follow, courtesy of www.musketeershockey.com


(Sioux City, IA) - The Sioux City Musketeers announced today the hiring of Rick Comley Jr. as an Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator. Rick spent the past two seasons with the Des Moines Buccaneers and as their Midwest Scout in 2005-06, was integral in scouting and recruiting the Clark Cup Champion team that year. Rick also scouted for the Waterloo Blackhawks during the 2004-05 season. While in Des Moines, Comley helped draft, recruit, and move 17 players on to Division I college hockey. They also had 6 players drafted into the NHL including 2 first round picks.

“I was thrilled when I got the news from Todd (Knott) that I would have an opportunity to work with him in Sioux City. Sioux City has become one of the best organizations in the USHL to work for and I can’t tell you how happy and excited I am to be here”, said Comley. New Head Coach Todd Knott said “Ricky was invaluable to our staff in Des Moines and helped us build that championship team. He has a great eye for talent and is well respected in the hockey community”.

Rick is the son of Rick Comley, Sr. current Head Coach at Michigan State University. Comley Sr. has over 725 career college victories and two NCAA titles. Rick Jr. is a graduate of Michigan State with a degree in History and a Master’s degree in Sports Administration.
