Raiola to Sioux Falls

The University of Massachusetts announced three players who have signed their National Letters of Intent. Anthony Raiola was included in that group, and it was also mentioned that Raiola is now scheduled to enroll for the fall of 2009. It was originally thought Raiola would jump from Minnesota HS straight to Massachusetts. Below is what was said about Raiola:

In his senior season playing for Minnetonka High School, Raiola totaled five goals and 12 assists for 17 points. His efforts this past season earned him All-Minnesota Honorable Mention. As a team, Minnetonka was ranked #1 throughout most of the season before they were upset by Benilde-St. Margaret's in the regionals of last year's playoffs. Raiola will play the 2008-09 season with Sioux Falls of the USHL.

This is not only a great addition for the Stampede, but for the USHL as a whole. It's always great to see top end talent choosing to go down the USHL path.
