Now introducing the uhhh Nebraska Storm?

It's official. The Tri-City Storm are no more. They will now be referred to as the Nebraska Storm. Along with the name change, they will also be sporting some new logos. I'll post those at the bottom. When I originally heard this rumor, I thought it was a bad idea to change the name to Nebraska and change the colors. With the color change, Nebraska Storm doesn't look so bad right now. I think the Storm management was looking to spice things up and have some change. That probably could have been done with some tweaking of the logo or something. This just seems like a bit much with it all happening at once.

“The main reason we have decided to make this change is because we want Storm Hockey to include fifty cities instead of just three,” said Storm V.P. of Operations Kyle Means. “With the great success of our Ambassador Program branching out to communities throughout central Nebraska, we feel it’s important to give fans in those towns as much ownership of this team as our most dedicated fans here in Kearney, Hastings and Grand Island.”

Accompanying the name change, the Nebraska Storm is unveiling a new, but similar, look to the logo and a brand new marketing plan. The Storm will also have new uniforms as the season starts this October with new team colors of purple, gold and red. The full reveal of the name change, logo and marketing plan will be released in the coming weeks.
