Dear Ryan:

What coaching or scouting or playing experience do you have if any?

Sincerely,

Jane/Tri-Cities

I do not have any coaching or scouting or playing experience.

And why does that matter?

Dear Ryan:

Thank you for this info. I was wondering because I had read some other forums where you also post and you seem to know or try to find out alot of what is happening/rumors etc., around the league.

To Starz: I like to keep myself informed with who, where and what I read in order to determine what is factual etc.

Sincerely,

Jane/Nebraska Storm (Tri-Cities)

I was thinking Jane was asking because Ryan's knowledge would be helpful to the next Alaska Fairbanks coach when he brings in 20 more recruits for 2009. :D

Hopefully by Thursday, May 9th I can get Lincoln's votes for winning the Clark Cup up to 30.

Do not be too sure 20 guys actually get on the D1 teams. It is a wonderful achievement; however, most are invited to the camps and do not have a solid commitment.

I have coaching and scouting experience, and I can tell you that Ryan does a better job of seeing talent than many scouts do.

Really! I guess that includes Rick Jr., our new assistant coach and scout for the Muskies right???

Why isnt Ryan a coach or scout then? Hmmmmm

Poster at l:04 Where are your coaching and scouting experience skills based? In hockey or blogging mindless bs?

Anonymous said...

who needs experience?
i think stats and experience and slumps are overrated. the more you bash someone or something the more you show you are powerless thus a nothing unless you can bash to feel better which is just sick, insecure, immature, or just plain jealous otherwise if you are normal you just ignore and zip it.

Dear Jane:

Where exactly is Tri-CITIES? Hmm

Jane, if you see Ryan posting on other message forums, perhaps you should contact him through there instead of trying to call him out on his blog?

Rretty sure that if Ryan was trying to start rumors or trying to find out non-factual information, this blog wouldn't be here very long.

I think it's a smart idea to have him monitor the comments, some of them are totally ridiculous!

Starz,
You appear to want to be Ryans mouthpiece! What are u jealous? And my name is not Jane, she is with the Storm group, it think.

I have no idea what you are talking about or why you are directing your comment towards me, but you will notice I am registered and my ID shows up when I post. I only show I have commented one time in this blog. Although I'm sure you will say that I posted as anonymous, but I have not.

No one said that your name is Jane. I think the only people who are jealous on this blog, are the ones that can't say anything nice or have to be negative. Why is that? Possibly because they are upset that THEY didn't break the news and have to act like 4 year olds about it.

I do agree with Starz though, what does that matter if he has that experience? He obviously has more knowledge than some people who post on here. Some of you just need to grow up and realize that Ryan obviously knows his crap so why do we need to act like immature morons?

This is probably the reason why the comments are moderated through Ryan, people are just way too negative.

Ryan-

I would hope you'd know that my comment regarding Alaska Fairbanks was a joke...just like their recruiting practices turned out to be under the short tenure of DelCastillo.

I only wonder what will happen with some of those recruits that Doc got to commit. I know Jake Newton was originally supposed to go there this season, but he will be back with Lincoln. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few more back in the USHL or other junior leagues if they are eligible.

Simon Olsson is probably the LEAST likely to EVER set foot in Alaska.

Unless the info streamed into this blog comes from a written source its just fiction.

Experience: Hands on experience is the best. Knowing what it feels like inside and out is reality. It is easy for fans with knowledge about hockey but without first hand experience to write about hockey as it lacks the real feel and raw emotions of true experience.

Busting news without waiting for the team to announce it is not respectful. Again this action is taken by those who are not experienced.

Then perhaps you should start your own if you think you know everything about hockey. Just because someone is not a scout or a coach does not mean anything. Obviously, it's been proven that Ryan has a lot of knowledge and he does know alot of inside people that tell him this stuff directly.

People on this blog are WAY to judgemental when it comes to that. Again, the old saying goes..."Don't like it? Don't read it!" Save room for people who like reading the blog and appreciate the work put into it.

Having experience means you lived by a type of code of ethics, if you played hockey, like me, then you would KNOW what I mean. If you didnt you just will never know.

Its great to have people that are dedicated to sports without ever playing them and that they understand the game concepts is wonderful. These people who combined with a passion to write make great journalists. Most sports commentators are ex players or coaches and they usually do not write.

My overall feeling is this: You will be more successful by being positive than by being a critic. Dont beat a man until you walk in his shoes!

Ryan, your email does not work, is it 'at' or @?

Good grief, get a life, people. If you don't like it because Ryan is breaking news, tough. Perhaps if teams and leagues were more efficient in disseminating their information, and the media in this country did a better job of covering junior hockey, blogs like mine (when I was blogging) and Ryan's wouldn't be as successful and popular as they are. Are you sure you want to go back to the media dark ages when everyone was oblivious to what was going on outside their team?

Blogs aren't simply a megaphone for us to tell secrets. For one thing, we don't blurt out everything we here when we hear it. I know Ryan has kept news to himself, as have I, because the timing would have been inappropriate. For another thing, I can't speak for Ryan, but I know when I wrote a lot of my sources were the coaches, teams, and leagues.

Marc: You are NOT in the know like you think you are and your posts on another dumb blog represent that. As far as leaking info, just hold it until it breaks. The USHL does not like it when others leak the news and IF you know a coach that likes to flap his gums perhaps you could educate him of proper procedures. That may make you and other bloggers more credible.

Now that's funny, I don't care who you are.

For one thing, I can tell you that Ryan has known A LOT of information about certain things and did NOT say anything about it, out of respect for the team.

I honestly think that some people are just simply jealous of the hard work that Ryan and Marc put into their blogs and are upset that other people report news before they do because they want to be the person going all over the place plastering the information.

Both Ryan and Marc do a fantastic job on what they do and have had coaches and staff members from teams thank them for their hard work so when a coach can recognize good work, that says something GOOD about it.
