Nice work Ryan!! I wish I knew enough about the whole league to argue a bit with some of your selections, but from the guys I've seen your picks look good.

One thing I'd like to point out. Rob Madore of the Steel is a much better goalie than some of his numbers would have one believe. He's always 1st or 2nd in shots seen in the league yet his save percentage is over .900. The kid plays in a very aggressive system where the Dmen take a lot of chances, and he sees a lot of quality shots, but usually keeps the Steel in games. I would give him an honorable mention.....

The West's goalies are big time goalies for sure.

Glad to see Forfar on your list. He wasnt going to get any chance at Waterloo.
Hes a quality two way player and comes to play hard every night.
Would love to see him jump into the All Star game.

Danny Heath is a defenseman for Tri city not a forward

Alex Hudson (TC) deserves to be on this list

Doesn't take a lot of knowledge to look at Pointstreak and pick from cold, hard stats.

If I were picking, I'd move Mitch Bruijsten to the dropped list. He's been pretty unimpressive in the games I've seen him play.

Forfar deserves to be on the list. He's played quite well since going to Lincoln.

Ryan, you did a pretty good job on this! Defense was probably your biggest misses. (The roster is posted over at USHL.com)

How can Lincoln's #1 scorer not be on the all-star team!!

Well of course it is. At this point in the season, the "all-stars" should be the ones scoring more, should they not? =)

It's not as easy as you seem to think, as you have to take into considering their stats, age, and if they are a player tagged as a player to watch by the NHL.

Every team is guaranteed a All-Star roster spot every year. It is like making sure the same kid is not picked last everyday for kickball at recess. I figured maybe Des Moines' waterboy might make the All-Star team.

Is it just me or does it seem odd that the East has two defensemen with a +/- of -14?!! I know stats are not everything, but they do tell you something.

Anonymous said...

i agree that a -14 isn't an all star statistic but kessel has tons of points and is leading defenseman in scoring! Little is more of a defensive d-man that is on a struggling team and faces other's top lines. I have seen both players and I think both are deserving.
