I find Waterloo releasing Andrew Hamburg interesting. He was touted as one of the best 2009 recruits. From what I heard, kind of a prima donna complex, and did not like or want to play "D". Interesting to see the reason he left or where he is going.

Looks like Hamburg will be playing for the Texas Tornado, and it seems Justin Lee will play for the Tornado as well.

Where was Dane Walters last year?

Not sure where Dan Walters played last year, but this season he played 4 games for the Texas Tornado (NAHL)

I see where Omaha still has four 87s on their roster - does this have to be reduced to three or can only three dress for a game?

Each ushl team can have 4 87's on their roster and any amount can dress and play!

I believe the USHL allows for 4 over-age (1987's) per team. I don't think USA hockey has a restriction on dressing 3 '87's per game, although I have heard that the CHL does have the 3-player per game rule...correct me if I'm wrong.

Holy Cow a kid from the middle of South Dakota with only high school experience made the Stampede.

I better grab my binoculars, I think I see pigs flying!

When is the deadline for USHL rosters going forward at the 23 man limit?

Waterloo had almost thirty players in Sioux City!

I was just going to ask the same question. I thought that was crazy - that's a lot of hearts that will be broken. What would be their rationale for doing that?

The USHL does a great job of leaving players high and dry. Where can these players go when it is so late to move to another team! Lots of empty promises and lies.

the NAHL will be fighting for them.

Waterloo dropped Scott Pavelski? Wow.

What is funny is Waterloo's paper had an article on tuesday before the fall classic in which their coach said he was making final cuts that night because it wasn't fair to sting kids on. Then he brings near 30 kids to the fall classic.

Waterloo fans will miss out on watching a great player like Kretzker!! There must be something wrong with the coach to let him go!

Kretzer was a surprise and Dillion, as a draft choice was a little surprising as well.

The team did look pretty good on the ice over the weekend!

As Ryan states, most of these guys will be gobbled up by NAHL!

Dane Walters and Andrew Hamburg played for the Dwight Mullins coached Dallas Stars Midget AAA team last year. Looks like at least one of them will be playing for him again this year. But it's not the one you would have expected if you believed the hype. Hamburg has already committed to CC.

hoyle sucks.. paliafito should have stayed instead o him. and Velecca from CR is can be one of the top players in the league i cant belienve CR dropped him

Is everyone's mom and girlfriend coming here complaining their loved one got cut. LOL

if you didn't know already, the USHL is a business. If a player gets cut, go back to high school or find an NAHL team, etc.

That's the price of admission to playing in nice buildings, in front of thousands of fans and lots of scouts. I know parents and players don't want to hear it. But that's the way it is.

I know that doesn't make it easier. As a housing parent, I've had a player walk in say, they were traded, pack up their stuff and be gone in 2 hours. It was tough. But you know that going in. It shouldn't be surprising.

lol, Cedar Rapids supposedly cut "one of the top players in the league" ok. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that he's not one of the top players in the league, but hey I could be wrong.

That said, I hope the person who said Kretzer shouldn't have been cut is right, go stars!

The USHL isn't only a business. It's great business.

Collect the $$'s at the gate, don't have to worry about paying out school packages, stipends,.....
