Couldn't skate in SF, then Lincoln saw he couldn't skate either...

I am thinking he should take advantage of one of those football or track scholarships he was offered........if they are still available.

Just another high school stud that can't make it anywhere else!

Apparently you've never seen Miller play, he might not have been the best skater but he was a gritty player who gave his all for the team. Many fans in Lincoln will miss him. Also keep in mind he is an 87 and teams are limited to 4 87's this yr. I'm sure he'll do just fine in SC this yr.

Miller was not a bad hockey player by any means. He will do well at Sioux City. He worked harder than anyone on the Lincoln team and doesn't really deserve such criticism. There are a lot worse players in the USHL.

I don't think the first anonymous poster has ever seen Joey play. He's definitely a grinder....a hard working kid who isn't afraid to go into the corners. I saw him play all last season with the Stars. Honestly, I'm very surprised he was let go. Sure, he might not be the most polished player on the ice, but he has heart and grit. I wish him luck in SC.

very true, is a grinder...but 2nd year out of high school and no offers?!?!?!?!?!?

Miller is not only hard working but has a strong shot and is very unselfish. Sioux City is fortunate to have him and he will get offers. There are more than a few 86's who didn't get offers until this last year and a few went big time(WCHA).

Coach Johnson said towards the end of last season that college coaches had started to notice Miller and were talking to him. Obviously our 0-4 exit from the playoffs didn't help his chances of being noticed. He'll commit this year and my guess is it will be a pretty good hockey school.

...thugs usually don't get many offers. Miller will.

I am thinking the individual posting the first comment of this blog is most likely feeling quite idiotic at this point in time, which he should, considering Miller was named the Captain of the Sioux City team midway through season, was on of the top scorers and point leaders and has now committed to play for the Gophers next year. Clearly one shouldn't speak about topics one has no expertise in. In short, shut up about shit you have no clue about.

P.S. Don't critical of successful high school athletes simply because you were not one of them.
