MacDonald Commits

Sioux City forward Will MacDonald has committed to Princeton University, according to Heisenberg. MacDonald becomes only the second Musketeer to commit to a college this year. Travis Oleksuk is the other and he will be headed to Duluth next fall.

MacDonald was a draft pick for coach Dave Siciliano this past May. He's a little small, but he's extremely fast and has a nose for the net.

Prior to Sioux City, MacDonald played for Culver Military Academy. He is originally from Alpharetta, Georgia. Yes, Georgia, that hockey hotbed down south.

Alpharetta.....

Isn't that where former Gambler and current Sioux Brad Miller is from?

Yes, the same Alpharetta.

Doug Jones with Cedar Rapids also played at the same rink in Alpharetta as Brad and Will.
About a half dozen players from Alpharetta either committed or playing D1. One, David Caruso of Ohio State signed last year with the Thrashers and played in the ECHL.
Hockey is booming in metro Atlanta.

Happy for Will that he'll be playing for Princeton. Good school.
