Bruneteau Traded

As some of you know, former Omaha Lancer forward Brett Bruneteau had become unhappy in Omaha and asked for a trade. Today he was dealt to the Indiana Ice for 2nd round NHL draft pick, Nico Sacchetti.

I think this makes sense for both parties involved. Hastings grants Bruneteau his trade and acquires a solid play maker in return. Indiana receives a 3rd year forward who can come in and help them lead the team and he should get a shot to see top line time, and Hastings avoids sending him to a West division rival.

It will be odd seeing a Bruneteau not playing for Omaha, as the Bruneteau's have a long history with the Lancer franchise.

Also, here is the Indiana release.

Hastings must really be a clown to have a home town kid refuse to play for him.

Fact is that Brunetau wanted to play in a more offensive system. He did not like Hastings defensive first system.

I've heard Brunateau is a loose cannon.

I don't want the Lincoln job.

Both players should be valuable players for the USHL-QMJHL matchup in August.

He felt a lot of pressure and the offensive style coach was teaching wasn't what we was looking for..so he wanted to be traded..I'm sure some of it was because of his dad too..but whatever makes brett happy is what he deserves.
