Notes

Omaha Lancer Drew Palmisano has committed to Michigan State University for the 2008-2009 season.

Pohl makes most out of limited ice time with the Gophers.

Pohl's decision to leave high school came after the Wingers finished second in the Class A state tournament after losing a 3-2 decision in the title game to Totino-Grace. Pohl had the chance that season to skate with older brother Mikey, a senior and the inspirational leader of the team. Pohl still lists that as his greatest hockey thrill.

The Wingers would have had a solid squad coming back the next year, but Pohl and fellow senior John Loquai, now a speed skater hoping to qualify for the Olympics, bolted for the USHL.

"Sure it would be fun to go to a different school and have a great stat line, and maybe have a shot at a good, healthy pro contract after college. But I chose to come to the University of Minnesota and be a part of something special. Yes, it hasn't gone the way I would have liked it, but I wouldn't trade it because you always get the opportunity to win championships and meet some great guys, and that's the best part of it."
