More Notes

Seems like it has been extremely slow for any new news lately, but here's what I've got.

Marc Foster reports that Junction City, Kansas is building a new arena and the USHL is interested.

I received an e-mail yesterday from a Kansas Hockey Blog, but thought nothing about it. Guess I should have opened it =)

Sioux Falls Argus Leader publishes another article about Thomas Vanek.

"He is the poster boy for our franchise because of the success he has had. He is the poster boy for our league, as well. Our league is making a pitch to work more with the NHL in regards to player development, and Thomas brings recognition to those efforts," Weckwerth said.

Former Cedar Rapids RoughRider Dustin Cloutier has committed to Bentley College for next fall. Dustin is currently playing for the Mahoning Valley Phantoms and pretty much dominating. He has seen a nice increase in his point total, going from 20 in 55 games for Cedar Rapids, to 50 in 34 games for the Phantoms.

Phoenix Coyotes have re-called Bill Thomas from San Antonio.

Thomas, 23, has registered 13-20-33 and 20 penalty minutes (PIM) in 47 games with the Rampage this season. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native ranks second on the team in points and assists.
