Kevin Patrick Relieved of Duties

For the third time this season, a USHL team has fired their head coach. This time, the team is in the Eastern Conference in the Muskegon Lumberjacks. Muskegon has relieved Kevin Patrick of his head coaching duties and named former NHL enforcer, Jim McKenzie, his replacement.

"It was a difficult decision to make as Kevin helped build our organization when the Lumberjacks first became a part of the USHL," Lumberjacks owner Josh Mervis said. "The team was not having the results we needed and it was time to move in a new direction."

Mervis will assume the duties of general manager.

The Jacks have also hired Ron Mason as a senior advisor for the team. Interesting note is that it doesn't appear that Jim McKenzie has any prior head coaching experience, or coaching experience at all.
