Sabres sign Tropp









Corey Tropp, who played for the Sioux Falls Stampede from 2005 to 2007, has signed a three year, entry level contract with the Buffalo Sabres.

Tropp played 100 games for the Herd, scoring 33 goals, adding 44 assists and 97 penalty minutes. In 22 playoff games, he had 6 goals, 12 assists and 8 penalty minutes. Tropp skated collegiately with Michigan State the past three seasons, with 29 goals, 41 assists and 111 penalty minutes.

The Grosse Point, Michigan native led Sioux Falls in scoring in 2006-2007 with 26 goals and 36 assists for 62 points and was named MVP of the 2007 USHL All Star game, after his two goals helped the West team to victory.

Tropp, who was drafted by Buffalo in the third round of the 2007 NHL entry draft, led Michigan State in scoring this past season with 20 goals and 22 assists for 42 points in 37 games. He was named the Spartans' MVP and Most Outstanding Offensive Player.
