Jimmy McGroarty out in Lincoln

The Lincoln Stars posted their worst season in franchise history, and have made a change behind the bench. The Stars have hired Chad Johnson, associate head coach of the Fargo Force and younger brother of former Stars head coach Steve Johnson.

This news is a little shocking, as McGroarty had some very good teams his first two seasons, but just didn't have that this season. The Stars should have a good core of returners for next season, though.

Here is an article from Brent Wagner of the Lincoln Journal Star.

Chad Johnson will be a disaster of a coach for Lincoln. He is a lush, liar, and one of the most unorganized people I have ever met. You had a better coach there. This will be a decision that Lincoln will live to regret.

I don't believe the change was needed. Jimmy McGroarty should have been given another year. One bad year and your done isn't the message the Stars should be sending.
