Erstad Goes DIII

Lincoln Stars forward, Travis Erstad, has decided to forgo his final year of junior eligibility and join the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Pointers for this season. Erstad originally committed to Wisconsin.

STEVENS POINT (WA0W)- Wisconsin's 2007 Mr. Hockey award winner Travis Erstad announces he will play for UW-Stevens Point this season, where he will also play for his former coach.

The SPASH grad joins a Pointer team coached by Wil Nichol, who led Erstad and the Panthers to two state appearances.

Erstad, who played for the U-S-H-L's Lincol Stars last season, knocked on Nichols' door yesterday morning and told him he wants to be a Pointer.

According to a very surprised Nichol, Erstad wants to get school started instead of playing another year of junior hockey.
