More Press Conferences

Des Moines has a press conference scheduled today to name their new head coach, while I also read Sioux Falls has a press conference as well.

Sioux Falls signs Kevin Hartzell to an extension.

Now official, JP Parise is the new Bucs head coach. Scott McConnell is named as the team's assistant coach.

Adding my two cents on the subject:

This is very good for the Des Moines Buc's and the USHL.

Guess that shoots down the rumors of McConnell taking the Head Coach spot at Indiana.

I like how these boards are. Buc's hire an older coach with NHL experience and no coaching experience since 1988!! That's right, 20 years ago folks. He gets a job where he knows he will be forced to play the owners kid despite knowing he isn't good enough to play.

Meanwhile, Knott is getting trashed on the other post for not accepting a job with Des Moines where ownership would be playing "daddy" rather then being owners AND he has experience recruiting, and having success in the NAHL within the last three or four years.

On top of all of this. People actually want him to take draft advice from the previous coaching staff (who although were fine at their job) are coming off a draft were their number one pick could even play in the USHL for any team.

I love this!!!

Actually I am happy that JP Parise and Scott are at the helm of the Buc's team. We will welcome the son also just like any other player. I dont understand the big deal. It happens very often in sports.

Therefore, if one dosent like it then that one can simply move on. It is a free country afterall and as the saying goes, you cant please all the people all the time.

So for that person or persons, good bye and good luck.

well the one thing, which in my opinion is quite obvious, is that JP Parise will do the COACHING while Scott McConnell will do the RECRUITING as he is up to date with players in this age group. And this is how it works for most of the league. Like in SC, coach S rarely saw players before tryout camp and if he has, it was either from a player visit and skated with the team or the select festivals in St. Cloud and Rochester. so i belive this will work just fine in des moines.

Hey, poster @ 4:03 pm:

Well said man. About time someone spoke up and told those who are unhappy or spiteful or on the rag or whatever their problem is against the Bucs to "just disappear" For those couple of crazies who feel the need to bash and trash, this message is for you: "WE DONT CARE WHAT YOU THINK SO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE".
p.s. Good luck Todd.

Bravo, (clap, clap).

I watched or attended almost every game we won but mostly lost last year at home or on the road and rooted for the Buc's. It was very hard to watch us lose so many, many games. It is easy to be angry and blame others all the time.
For those of us who supported the team last season I for one am happy with the changes made this week. Coach Todd has moved to another team and I hope he will be successful as well as Coach Simon, where ever he may end up.

I am a die hard Buc's man, and I will support the team and coaches and ALL the players and ownership for as long as I am able. (JP, great addition by the way).

So to others who may spew their anger, jealously and ugliness on blogs I hope you find a new team you can support with true spirit.

It is good to be a Buc's fan.

Thank You,

R. White, Row 2
