Gambler/Storm Trade

Green Bay and Tri-City have completed a deal. Thanks to John Meissner for bringing this news to my attention via the TC Storm board.

KEARNEY - The Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League announced today that defenseman, Kyle Ensign, has been traded to the Green Bay Gamblers in exchange for Phil Ginand (pronounced Jin-and). Ensign's Storm career began at the start of the 2006-07 season. He played in just 25 games in '06-'07 after sitting out most of the year with injuries. In 20 games this year and 25 last season Ensign recorded a total of 14 points on three goals and eleven assists. He is committed to play collegiate hockey at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

In 26 games this year, the newly acquired Ginand has scored 18 points on seven goals and eleven assists for the Gamblers. He was the second-leading scorer on the team. Originally from Milford, MA, this is Ginand's first season in the USHL.

"Moving Kyle was a difficult decision because he has been here for so long. With only having eleven forwards though, we needed some depth up front. Hopefully, Phil will help provide more scoring," said head coach and general manager Bliss Littler.

Ginand, a 6-foot, 180 pound forward will wear number 17 for the Tri-City Storm. He is expected to be on the active roster for Friday night's contest with the Sioux Falls Stampede.

gb needs all the help they can get up front as well... why give up one of your leading goal scorers?

falling behind 6-1 on Friday.. blowing 3-0 and 5-2 leads on Monday... having allowed the most goals in the league... defense is more of an issue than offense - and you have give something to get something.

I'm not saying the trade will work - time will tell - but I understand
