Okposo is a classless punk for leaving his team half way through a season. I hope he's stuck in the AHL the rest of the year.
Just thought id point out what the BG coach said... even i missed it the first time i read it. "We definitely have three of these players in next fall, but we'll monitor the other three as the year goes on and continue to evaluate their progress. So we'll continue to recruit this class as the year goes on and continue to add members when needed." So Vargas, Bailen, and Potocco are going next fall and the other 3 will head there the year after.
another ushl player going a total of 1.5 years to college. can you believe the kid will leave already to pursue his dream? I love when people call these kids derogatory names for the decisions they make. when oppurtunity knocks.... poor Okposo will more than likely earn in excess of $500,000/yr and get a hefty signing bonus. he'll probably get over the silly names others call him. good luck in your career Kyle.
Even though I believe a player should not quite a team in the middle of a season, I have no qualms about a player leaving before he graduates as it is a personal decision. However, he is definitely not ready for "The Show" just yet. Still a few years away in my opinion
where is Vargas playing now?
Ryan,
Does Minnesota have anyone in Juniors that as graduated high school they can try and bring up?
Vargas is playing in the BCHL with the Burnaby Express.
Why is it that you have to be from Minnesota to be good at hockey??Please...the only state that would have a player good enough to be brought up to play....I think many Minnesota players are over rated!!!!
Did Vargas leave on his own or did he get released from Tri-city of the USHL?
Blame Lucia for Okposo leaving, he's not happy at center and putting up the point he could at wing, so I can't blame him for leaving, as for Sieveman's comment, I believe he meant someone who is committed to the U already and is in juniors.
Sieve to answer your question here are the junior hockey players committed to the U, slated for next season.
Taylor Matson (Des Moines), Nico Sacchetti (Omaha), Brandon Martell (Tri-City), Jake Hanson (Sioux Falls), Mike Dorr (Des Moines)
"Blame Lucia for Okposo leaving, he's not happy at center and putting up the point he could at wing, so I can't blame him for leaving"
If that's the case, I sure hope Ted Nolan listens to him when he gets to the Islanders. Nolan should listen to the players about when & where they want to play. I'd hate for Nolan to lose another coaching job because he didn't let a player run the team. Don't these coaches know they're only figureheads & really don't know what they're doing?
As far Sieveman's question, I think he means players that already are done with high school & would be available to go the Gophers for the second semester. In which case Hansen from SF is out, he graduates this spring.
from my understanding, Vargas left TC on his own to "be closer to home"
Maybe he just wasn't happy with his situation in TC, as he's even further from home now.
Please....Dorr is just coming off of the injured reserve for the failing Buc's..who knows how well he will be able to come back. And as for "highly touted" Matson...he really hasn't made much of a difference this season for the losing Buc's!
