Indiana vs Cedar Rapids Preview

Tonight, the Ice look to become the 2nd team to punch their ticket to the final four. The Riders though, will look to spoil their party. On the season, Indiana went 2-3-2 against Cedar Rapids, including a 5-3 win in Cedar Rapids in their first meeting this season. Indiana is coming off an upset win, in some people's minds, over Waterloo on Wednesday, so they have some game time under their belts. Cedar Rapids had the longest layoff of any team, as they finished off Ohio a few days before most teams had their Game 3 and 4. Will the layoff prevent the Riders from coming out strong? Or will it give them the boost they need to take down the hot Ice team? Indiana was led offensively in their meetings by John Kemp (1-8--9) and Jake Skjodt (3-3--6) while Cedar Rapids was offensively led by Jacob Cepis (6-3--9) and Pat Cannone (2-5--7). Cedar Rapids averaged a GAA of 2.57 vs Indiana, but Indy had a GAA of 3.71 vs Cedar Rapids. The Indiana defense will need to step it up and Alex Kangas will have to keep playing stellar between the pipes. Richard Bachman though, may have something to say about this game, as he is coming off a round where he surrendered just three goals in four games.

Prediction: Indiana shocks the Riders with a 3-2 OT victory to find their way to the final four.
