Quick Article

Buccaneers are upset the Buc Bowl is moving.

"It's disappointing," Buccaneers coach Regg Simon said. "All of the scouts look forward to coming to Des Moines every year. It's easy to get to and fly into. It's centrally located for the teams that are traveling. ... I'll be interested in hearing feedback from the scouts about the extra travel."

So what was the official reason?

I am thinking it was about $$..

Closer to Sioux Falls, Omaha (not by much), Lincoln (not by much), Tri City ( not like they went to DM anyways) and obviously Sioux City.

Or was it about fairness so those teams listed above got a chance to have more fans attend. Will it rotate between the two. But I guess to centrally locate it, Omaha might have been a better choice and stick it in the Qwest Center.

Back to original question- What was the official reason?

With how competitive the USHL is becoming and the talent coming out of it, they will still show up.

The last 2 seasons, there have hardly been ANYONE there until DM plays at night. It's going to end up being a traveling tournament so that will be nice for fans that can't usually go to Des Moines.

I could almost guarantee you, they are not going to put that tournament at the Qwest Center. Omaha has way too many other venues for it to be there.

I am glad they announced already when it will be so we can take time off of work. Some of us use our vacation time for that :]
