Fargo, Third Time a Charm?

As this article explains, Dean Blais has signed a 5 year contract to coach the new USHL team that will be going to Fargo.

USHL Commissioner Gino Gasparini said developer Ace Brandt applied for USHL membership Friday, and the application is now in process.

The process has started, so I'm sure it won't take too long before Fargo is given the "official" go ahead.

Blais said he “just wanted to get behind the bench again” and wasn’t interested in returning to college coaching.

Interesting, most thought he would hold off on signing anything to see if a college job opened.

Hopefully this arena is ready in time for the 08 season and I hope Fargo can flourish with their new USHL team.

I'd suspect this would mean the end of the NAHL's Fargo-Moorhead Jets. I think it'd be too tough to have an NAHL team and a USHL team in the same city.

Considering the home offices of the USHL are in Fargo, they really ought to have a team there.

My apologies. The league offices are in Grand Forks. And yes, I am a dumbass.

Good luck to Dean and Fargo. My friends in Iowa are just crazy for USHL. I look forward to it.
