Pavelski is off to a hot start for the San Jose Sharks since he was called up from their AHL affiliate. Joe has scored a goal in his last 3 games, including a goal in his first career NHL game vs the Los Angeles Kings. Joe played 2 seasons in Waterloo for the Black Hawks, and recorded 145 points in 133 games. He lead the Hawks to a Clark Cup title in 2004. He earned a scholarship to Wisconsin and eventually lead them to the NCAA title last season. Joe signed with the Sharks this summer and was playing with the Worcester Sharks. Pavelski had notched 26 points in 18 games for Worcester, and San Jose gave him the opportunity to play in the NHL and he has made them look extremely intelligent for giving him a chance.
He is doing quite well for a 7th round draft pick in 2003. Joe has been playing alongside Patrick Marleau and Steve Bernier, and if he can stick with them, he should see many more points come his way. Jonathan Cheechoo is scheduled to be back tonight, so that may force Pavelski to drop down a line.
Good luck to Joe and his NHL career, it's always nice to see former USHL players make it to the show.

He'd be a higher draft if he didn't play in Waterloo.... Dump, Chase, Trap... = 7th rd
